Training Opportunities
The Auraria Campus Police Department (ACPD) and the Office of Emergency Management offer a variety of training opportunities for free to current Auraria Campus students, faculty, and staff.
2025 Trainings
All trainings are conducted in person in the Emergency Operations Center at 1200 7th Street.
Active Harmer Preparedness Training
The goal of these training opportunities is to help you feel empowered and prepared in the unlikely event of an active harmer incident on campus.
You will learn:
- Prevention measures
- Actions to take during an attack
- What to expect once the attack has concluded

Stop the Bleed® (Civilian Trauma Training)
Stop the Bleed® (Civilian Trauma Training) teaches participants basic life-saving medical interventions:
- Bleeding control with a tourniquet
- Bleeding control with gauze packs or topical hemostatic agents
- Opening an airway to allow a casualty to breathe
This National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) course is for civilians with limited or no medical training who wish to learn evidence-based, life-saving bleeding control techniques that can dramatically increase casualty survival.

Basic CPR/AED and First Aid
Basic CPR/AED and First Aid is a beginner course designed for anyone who is NOT in a healthcare profession but wants or needs to know the basics of CPR, AED use, and First Aid in case of an emergency. This class meets OSHA CPR requirements. Upon completion of this course, you will receive a 2-year certification through the American Heart Association.
